It's no secret that Puerto Rico has had trouble recovering from the category 5 hurricane Maria, which made direct landfall over the island, September 16th. Even though it's been almost four months now, around 40% of residents are still struggling without power and water.
Lots of volunteer organizations are helping with supplies and care for those hit hardest.
Battle Balm has chosen to partner with the Integrative Health Project to assist local volunteer affiliate, Proyecto Salud y Acupuntura para el Pueblo in San Juan, PR. The Integrative Health Project, run by Dr. Joan Boccino, DAOM, provides access to free integrative medicine in underserved communities, and assists dedicated and skilled local groups to do the same.
Battle Balm is currently helping IHP & Proyecto Salud y Acupuntura para el Pueblo treat those injured in the hurricane that may not have any access to healthcare. We are grateful for the opportunity to work with these incredible volunteer organizations in their efforts to help these hard hit communities begin to heal in the aftermath of natural disaster.
