Jessica has been an athlete most of her life, growing up in Erie, Pennsylvania. She has always been a fierce competitor and no stranger to contact sports. In high school she played football with the junior and varsity boys team and became the first female to score points in a game in her home state of PA. She later went on to play for four years in the Women's Semi-Pro Football League of Erie. Due to injury, she had to stop playing football. Soon after hanging up the cleats, Jessica was introduced to MMA. Zomcik began her serious training with Team DNA in Erie and had her first amateur fight in July of 2009, setting the NAAFS record for fastest women's knockout in 26 seconds. Looking to build her skills further, Jessica left Erie to continue her career path with Evolve MMA, where she currently trains with some of the best fighters Ohio has to offer.
As part of her MMA repertoire, Jessica is a grappling specialist. She has competed with the North American Grappling Association as well as the Grapplers Quest tournament. She's a two-time NAGA champion and three-time GQ winner. In her MMA career, Zomcik has fought most of her fights with the NAAFS and amassed some great wins against the best female fighters in her weight division. She is one or two fights away from making a professional debut. As of this writing, Jessica Zomcik will be facing Shannon Reid at Tuff-N-Uff on November 29th, 2013. This is the same launching pad that Ronda Rousey used before her pro debut in 2011.
